Stainless Steel 347/347H Heat Exchanger Tubbing consists of 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and niobium (10 times carbon content), which resists intergranular corrosion in the alloy. With a tensile strength of up to 620 MPa (347H) and high ductility, it provides better performance under high-temperature and high-stress conditions. The niobium addition provides improved resistance to sensitization and carbide precipitation on welding. Main benefits are resistance to oxidation at high temperatures, toughness, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and so it’s extremely reliable under severe operating conditions for use in heat exchangers, boilers, and pressure vessels.
